Kunstbrücke am Wildenbruch

The historic toilet facility at the Wildenbruch bridge is a bizarre place with an extraordinary charm. In the summer of 2021, the facility was converted into an experimental cultural site that is unique in Berlin. The Kunstbrücke am Wildenbruch (art bridge) comprises four small exhibition rooms that are still reminiscent of the original use.

    Vernissage

The group exhibition explores how capitalism shapes urban life and often suppresses invisible processes such as care, resistance, and collective solidarity. Twelve artists and performers use magic as a method to challenge these structures and bring alternative forms of coexistence and survival to light. The exhibition combines installation, painting, sound, and video into a dynamic structure that is continuously expanded through performances, inviting visitors to re-experience power, community, and urban spaces.

    Performances

The performances by Susanne Grau and Selma Lindgren explore questions of encounter, trust, and human relationships. While Xenia // is it urgent? takes the form of a collective reading, dance performance, and participatory theatre piece that blurs the boundaries between observing and acting, Smoke in Mirrors examines the mechanisms of trust through the format of a magic show. Both works invite audiences to reflect on their own role in relation to others and to reconsider how connection is formed in times of uncertainty.
